The fourth season of the FX anthology will premiere in October; plus watch the first teaser.
FX has set the premiere date for “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” The network announced Wednesday the next installment of the American Horror Story franchise, subtitled Freak Show, will premiere Oct. 8 at 10 p.m.
Because the name implies, this season sets its horror sights on a single of the last remaining freak shows, operating circa 1950 in Jupiter, Fla. Playing in the AHS repertory are Jessica Lange as a German expatriate who manages the consortium and Sarah Paulson as conjoined sisters, as well as Michael Chiklis as a strongman of the freak show — among others.
The news comes in the days leading up to a big night for the Ryan Murphy-Brad Falchuk drama. The 3rd season, “American Horror Story: Coven,” received 17 Emmy nominations, including best miniseries and several acting nominations.
When we spoke to Paulson in front of Emmy nominations, she had already begun production around the fourth installment and, though she kept a good lip with details, she noted that she did have some say together with her character.
“I did make a request about this character,” Paulson said. “And [Ryan] did create it for me.” Maybe now we are able to figure out what that meant.
