While Kohli continues to be nominated for the Cricketer of the season and ODI Cricketer of the Year awards, Tendulkar has once more been nominated for that ICC People’s Choice award.

Those nominated for that People’s Choice award include Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, South Africa’s Vernon Philander and Jacques Kallis, while England’s James Anderson comprises the quintet of nominees.

The in-form Indian batsman, Virat Kohli, was on Monday nominated for that Cricketer of the Year award, while fellow batsman Sachin Tendulkar was again nominated for that ICC People’s Choice award. Kohli seemed to be nominated for the ODI Cricketer of the Year award.

Kohli was the only real Indian cricketer to have two nominations. Aside from Tendulkar, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and opener Gautam Gambhir were also nominated under different categories.

The Delhi batsman was rewarded with double nominations for his consistency using the bat. As the leading run scorer in ODIs in 2012, he’s been in a tremendous form.

Considering Kolhi’s rise towards the No. 2 spot within the ICC’s latest ODI rankings, his nomination hasn’t surprised anyone. The ICC honour happens to be an apt reward within the wake of his consistency in the highest level.

Ironically though, India didn’t get any nomination for the Test Cricketer of the season award. Dhoni and Gambhir are also nominated for the ODI Cricketer of the season award along with Kohli, while Tendulkar was nominated for that People’s Choice Award.

Six players happen to be nominated in three different categories – Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal, South Africa’s Hashim Amla, Australia captain Michael Clarke, Sangakkara, England’s Alastair Cook and West Indies’ Stafanie Taylor.

The six players, all feature within the ICC Cricketer of the Year, the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, long list, as the male nominees are all nominated both in the Test Cricketer of the Year and ODI Cricketer of the season long lists, Taylor however features in the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the season and Women’s T20 Cricketer of the Year long lists.
